Hello, and welcome to my class!
My name is Shelby Farmer and I have been an educator at Berrien Springs Public Schools since 2008. I received my teaching credentials from Western Michigan University and am certified to teach all subjects K-5 and English and Science at the middle school level. I have earned my master's degree in educational technology as well.
I taught fifth grade for four years and then moved to the fourth grade where I have taught since 2012. I love being a Shamrock and living in Southwest Michigan -- except for the snowy and icy mornings as I drive to work! I believe Sylvester Elementary is without a doubt one of the best elementary schools in the state; every administrator and educator hold students and each other to very high standards here and the level of care for children is phenomenal.
I hope you find your child's time in this building, and in particular, fourth grade, to be a time of great growth. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have about your child's progress.
Most Sincerely,
Shelby Farmer
